Stewardship & Finance serves two primary functions - to coordinate financial decisions of the church and to run the annual pledge drive. The treasurer continually updates the income and expenses of the church and pays all bills. The annual pledge drive is initiated each November, when each Ministry submits projected budgets for the next fiscal year. The drive consists of mailings, newsletter reports and Moment for Mission statements from the pulpit. How blessed we are to have the congregation's dedication to the Ministries of this church in serving God's will.
The Ministry of Stewardship & Finance presents the next fiscal year operating budget to Session, and upon Session approval, the budget is presented to the congregation in the annual Financial Report section during the annual congregational meeting.
The Stewardship & Finance Ministry, along with other members of our congregation, also coordinate the annual audit of all church ministries' financial records. Throughout the year, Stewardship & Finance members track the church's financial health and explain financial choices to the Session and congregation and will suggest changes to the budget when needed.
For the future, the Stewardship & Finance Ministry looks forward to implementing a series of meetings for the congregation based on "investing and budgeting".
